Prakruti mishra was born and raised into the brahmin family of odia musical director. she completed her schooling from venkateswar english medium school of bhubneshwar, after schooling Prakruti mishra did graduation in commerce from rama devi womens college of odisha, after taht she started b.a at bhavans college of mumbai. Prakruti mishra was very interested in acting and dancing since her childhood. She mostly participate in school-level events and competitions also.Prakruti mishra made her acting career as a child actor at the age of five. First time she played on a big screen through film "Hari Bhai Harena" next she played the role of rama in film sabata maa 2003 during 2005-06.In 2006, she won the Odisha State Film Award for Best Child Actor for Sashughara Chalijibi.
She get popular after she appeared in ETV Odia's Tulasi playing Smruti. In 2009 Prakruti mishra became the part of two movies like sata sure bandha ae jibana, hukul and pagala karichi pauji toro. Next she featured in movies like omm 2012. In 2013 prakruti doing good acting in the movies like acp sagarika, premika and kuanri kanya. The same year she appointed as the judge of the show mr and miss kalinga.
In 2006, she won the Odisha State Film Award for Best Child Actor for Sashughara Chalijibi.
