      War Story:

      War Review:

Two stars of the action genre and favorite favorites, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, lock horns in battle. This is a juicy proposition for the fan and girls of both actors. The return of a millennium of sorts in the 90s show between Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff in Subhash Ghai's Khalnayak. But war, apart from this talking point, serves too much for action-movie buffs. It has a lot of stunts, thrills, twists and just enough spice and explosions to keep you hooked in the first half, but once the second half of the story gets revealed big, it gets awkward. While the film excels in action sets, it falls short on the story front.

But the story is all in fairness, secondary to the idea of seeing two handsome hooks in a duel of high-octane stunts (action directors - Seong Oh, Pervez Sheikh, Franz Spielhaus and Paul Jennings). It is like two heroes, Hrithik and Tiger, known for their bulging muscles and six-pack abs who beat each other in a competition of pure contention. Kabir and Khalid pound each other to a pulp, punch and kick, and seeing the two actors in their teasing show is a sight for fans. Hrithik Roshan tops the hero and Tiger matches his seniors in both on-screen intensity and high-flying action. The two actors feed off each other's potential for good-looking action. And when they are not fighting for supremacy, they are trying to outplay each other in foot-tapping numbers. Vaani Kapoor has a small role, where she mostly manages the glamor quotient of the film. Ashutosh Rana brings out his usual dial-up intensity along with his performance.

Like controversial entertainment, War does a small act of everything in its narrative - action, drama, music, romance, exotic locations, and car chases. The screenplay makes room for every commercial movie element. In a bid to make it Hollywood-esque, director Siddharth Anand and his team have designed to thrill many of the film's stunts that you usually see in films like Mission Impossible and Fast and Furious. The relentless action and dialogue is entertaining, but the predictable storyline and how much the original screenplay leaves much to be desired in this desi action flick. Behind films like Hrithik's Dhoom 2 and Tiger's Baaghi 2, Yudh is a good addition to the action film legacy of both actors. But this high-profile Bang Bang show is the best, popcorn entertainment for action movie amateurs.
