Overview

DAMaN, which stands for "Durgama Anchala re Malaria Nirakarana", is Babushan Mohanty's 2022 Indian Odia biographical social drama movie written and directed by Debi Prasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya, and produced by Deependra Samal. The film stars Babushaan and Dipanwit Dashmohapatra in lead roles.

Daman Story (True biographical movie)

The film is set in 2015. Siddharth is a young doctor who completed his MBBS and has been posted to the cut-off area of Malkangiri district, Odisha.

As per the guidelines of the Government of Odisha, medical students studying in government-sponsored medical courses have to serve in tribal or rural areas of Odisha for 5 years; otherwise, they have to pay a 5 crore bond price. So, Siddharth has to go there against his wishes. Janbai PHC has 151 villages under it and is infamous for Naxal dominance, with no basic facilities. It's his journey that fights against all odds to help and make people aware of healthcare facilities.

It's a journey of a doctor.

 

Daman Odia Movie Story Line

For the first time in the Odia industry, Babushan’s movie is based on the story of malaria control in the Malkangiri district. In addition, the film depicts the natural beauty of the Swabhiman region of Malkangiri district, and for the first time, an Odia film was shot in Malkangiri district; the people of the district watched the film's trailer. After the release of the Daman trailer, Malkangiri people appreciated and shared this trailer on social media platforms. People are so excited to watch the release on the big screen. However, in the coming days, there is a demand in various places, including youth groups, to show the natural beauty of the Malkangiri district through the big screen of Odia films.
